Maternity Treatments
During pregnancy your body is continually adjusting and sometimes needs a little help in the process. I often have ladies call me up, tired, suffering and desperate!
Common problems are headaches, morning sickness, pelvic pain, back pain, babies that won’t turn, are overdue or Symphisis Pubis Diastasis (SPD). All these and more can be helped with the therapies I use. When you come and see me we’ll have a chat and choose the best way for you, maybe incorporate some essential oils and flower essences to help too. I work with your midwife and will send you back there or to a specialist physio if need be. You can come for treatment throughout your pregnancy or just dip in when you need a boost or a particular problem worked on.
Many ladies come when their babies are overdue and they want to avoid induction or caesarean.
For years I've been giviing ladies a copy of a wonderful study of Reflexology in pregnancy to read. Dr Motha, an obstetrician, pioneered the use of Reflexology for pregnant mothers in London in 1987. The study showed reflexology to be safe during pregnancy in terms of helping mothers to go all the way to term and beyond, with a reduction of the common symptoms of pregnancy such as high blood pressure, swollen feet, heartburn, aches and pains and headaches. Labour times were typically shorter; 89% of mothers had a normal delivery with only 5% being induced and numbers of caesareans were far below average too.

In December 2009 my friend Louise asked me to be her birth partner. To read about our experience click here

I first visited Rosemary when I was six months pregnant with my second child, Isobel.
I had been suffering the effects of a condition known as symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD) and also general back ache.
I had not experienced reflexology before, Rosemary clearly explained the benefits and how it all actually works.
I found my first treatment very relaxing almost to the point of drifting off to sleep, and after a few treatments my symptoms eased.
I continued treatments with Rosemary right up to the day Isobel was born, I finished my treatment at 12 midday and she was born at 5pm, very easily and with no pain relief.
I truly believe that having reflexology during my pregnancy made the birth process considerably more manageable and the symptoms I had with the SPD had subsided.
I continue to have reflexology now as I feel its beneifts are many and in the busy lives we lead it is a very good way of de stressing and relaxing.
Isobel has also experienced Baby Reflex at the hands of Rosemary , which she very much enjoyed and it was precious time for both mother and baby together.
I would recommend reflexology to everyone as it is a non medical, natural way of healing and relaxation
