The twins that wouldn't sleep
At 11 months old, Isla had open heart surgery. Before then she had never slept well and afterwards the trauma of the operation had meant the habit of waking almost hourly carried on, disturbing her twin sister Evie, leaving her poor mum and dad exhausted.
Both girls were getting almost weekly coughs and colds too. Evie had tonsillitis and was in hospital after a febrile convulsion and her sleep became severely disrupted afterwards and she wasn't a happy young lady for a few weeks.
A friend recommended they came to see me for some Bowen Technique and they came weekly.
The sessions lasted only a few minutes, while the girls played with all my toys!
Their mum Clare says "It was after the third session that the girls started to sleep through the night. For the first time ever, Isla slept right through, undisturbed night after night.
I had also recommended a CD, Little Sea Shells by John Levine which Clare says really helped and the girls have lavender in their bath and Emergency Rescue Essence if they need extra help. This really helps with night terrors and I've known the first dose stop recurrent night terrors in several children.
The girls had a break from treatment and came back in August for some top up Bowen.
Mum said then that the girls had no coughs and colds all summer and although their sleeping had never returned to the nightmare pattern, they were a lillle disrupted and a couple of Bowen sessions settled them again.
Clare says "We would definitely recommend Bowen as we're amazed and pleased how much it helped the girls". The whole family now sleep well and are much healthier!
